Silhouette Soft Thread Lifts are skillfully performed in my clinic in Stirling to lift jowls, face and neck, helping your skin defy gravity. My name is Patricia Manson, Clinical Director of Precise Medical Aesthetics in Stirling, Central Scotland. I am one of a handful of clinicians in Scotland trained to give you a Silhouette Soft Thread Lift.

What are the benefits of Silhouette Soft?
Silhouette Soft is known as a ‘thread lift’. It is actually filler in the form of a thread! It is also the only non-surgical option to lift your face and defy the skin’s gravitational pull instantly. Your skin will look subtly lifted, but also very natural. What’s even better is that results improve over the coming months. The procedure is only minimally invasive and is usually completed in under an hour.

What areas can be treated and how does it work?
Silhouette Soft targets areas of your face and neck, brow and jowls. The jowls and neck in particular are notoriously hard to tackle non-surgically. Silhouette Soft is made up of unique dissolvable surgical threads. There are tiny cones on each thread. As your threads dissolve collagen production is stimulated by your body. As a result this gives your face a secondary lift several months later. In other words, Silhouette Soft gives a mechanical lift at the time it is placed and then 3 months later you will experience a biological lift as your collagen forms around it.

What does the treatment involve?
I administer a local anaesthetic so that the placement of the threads are almost painless. Then I carefully and skillfully insert several Silhouette Soft threads under your skin using a very fine needle. The tiny little cones anchor in the tissue just below the skin to hold the threads in place. Now the magic happens! I gently apply a little pressure to reshape the surface of the skin, hence giving you an instant lifting effect.

How long is the recovery time and how long do the effects last?
I carry out your treatment in one session which normally takes under an hour. Your recovery time is minimal and it is possible to resume normal activity without anyone knowing the treatment has even taken place! The tiny needle barely leaves a mark. There is often a little puckering which is gone within 48 hours. If there is any post-treatment bruising it is usually faint and will resolve. The Silhouette Soft threads dissolve after 18 months, leaving in their place natural ‘scaffolding’ created by the surplus of your own collagen. This collagen acts as a ‘mesh’ under your skin. It maintains a lifted appearance long after the threads have dissolved. This facial re-shaping ultimately lasts for 18-24 months. The process can be then be repeated if you wish.

Who is this treatment suitable for?
This treatment is most likely to be suitable for men and women between the ages of 40 and 65. As a rule of thumb, if you can lift the skin on your face by about 1cm with your fingers, you are most likely suitable. Sometimes the skin is too loose, however, making it difficult or impossible to achieve an good result. I would assess your suitability at your 1 hour long consultation. At that point I would give you an honest and professional appraisal of your suitability for Silhouette Soft. Threads often work well in combination with dermal fillers. This is due to the anchoring effect of the fillers.
What make you different as an aesthetic practitioner?
I am fortunate to be one of the very few practitioners in Scotland trained to place Silhouette Soft threads. I began practising facial aesthetics in 2010 and realised immediately that it is very artistic. I enjoy oil painting as a hobby and it has to be said I am a bit of a perfectionist. My background is actually dentistry. Performing facial aesthetics blends together my creativity, my eye for detail and also my dexterity. I am passionate about these treatments and help my patients feel better about their appearance and self-esteem. I also have had advanced masterclass training in Botulinum treatments (known as Botox) and dermal fillers by some of the best aesthetic doctors in the UK and Europe. I attend masterclasses regularly in London and Glasgow with world-renowned clinicians.
